Daniel Wespe, Ph.D., J.D.

Daniel Wespe, Ph.D., J.D., joined Nextech as a fellow in 2021 and assists with legal and scientific due diligence. Daniel is a U.S. patent attorney admitted in Massachusetts. Prior to joining Nextech, Daniel spent six years in the patent practice at Cooley LLP in Boston, first as a patent agent and most recently as an associate. While working at Cooley, Daniel completed his J.D. in the evening division at Suffolk University Law School. He has experience in patent prosecution and litigation, patent diligence efforts such as freedom-to-operate analysis, strategy, and licensing.
Daniel holds a B.A. in chemistry from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Columbia University. When he is not at his computer, Daniel enjoys running and hiking with his family.
